Citylone, Arcom subsidiary company, designs smart street lighting controllers (LON® nodes).
The controllers are compatibles with all kind of lamps (sodium, metal iodide, LED….) and control as well magnetic as electronic ballasts.

The PLC (Power Line Communication) technology allows to exchange informations via the existing electrical network.
The street lighting market chose the open and inter operable LonWorks® network in PLC. This solution allows all the equipments and devices to communicate with each other via the electrical network.

Echelon had his technology patented to optimize communication via the PLC media.
This system guarantees a constant communication between the segment controller (Echelon i.LON) and street lighting controllers (Citylone SLxx), depending on the communication qualtiy, it allows the orders "repeating".
